Emergency Response for Tawila IDPs
The escalation of conflict in North Darfur has forced tens of thousands of families to flee their homes, arriving in Tawila Locality with little or no possessions. The sudden influx of displaced persons has overwhelmed existing shelter and service capacity, leaving vulnerable groups exposed to life‑threatening conditions:
Food insecurity: Families lack reliable access to meals, with children and elderly at highest risk.
Shelter crisis: Overcrowded and inadequate shelters leave many exposed to heat, rain, and wind.
Health emergencies: Limited medical services cannot meet the urgent needs of malnourished children, pregnant women, and the sick.
WASH shortages: Scarcity of clean water and sanitation facilities increases the risk of disease outbreaks.
Protection concerns: Women, children, and persons with disabilities face heightened risks of exploitation and neglect.
Immediate humanitarian assistance is critical to provide food, shelter, health care, WASH services, and protection support. Without urgent intervention, thousands of lives remain at risk in Tawila, North Darfur.
